On 24 July, 2026, ISYP hosted an online Young Pugwash Universe gathering, bringing together members of Student/Young Pugwash (SYP) national and university chapters.

Among the groups represented, chapters from Italy, Pakistan, Russia, and the UK shared updates on their ongoing projects and activities. Newly established chapters – including SYP Iran, SYP Nigeria, SYP Spain, the University of Toronto chapter, and the emerging Southern African Development Community group – also introduced themselves to the Young Pugwash Universe, exchanging their experiences, and also sharing their group’s planned activities. All members valued the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and initiatives, and to be part of the Pugwash community.

The gathering continued the tradition of these meetings, the last of which was held in March 2025, when SYP and university groups shared updates and discussed ways to strengthen partnerships across the Young Pugwash Universe. This year’s gathering built on those conversations, and we were especially glad to welcome so many new chapters into the network.
