ISYP, IPPNW Students, BASIC and the Emerging Voices Network (EVN) are delighted to announce an upcoming virtual webinar event on Humanitarian Impacts and the NPT: One Year on from RevCon.
Register here to join us on Thursday 14th September, from 13:00 to 14:00 London time.
This discussion will focus on the humanitarian impacts agenda, within the context of the NPT process. The event will explore the range of current humanitarian impact concerns within today’s security context, and reflect on engagement with this issue during last year’s tenth NPT Review Conference and any developments since. This event also intends to explore possible obstacles and opportunities for the humanitarian impacts agenda within the new Review Cycle, and to highlight the role and importance of early career professionals in furthering the work on humanitarian impacts within the NPT. Remarks will be given by Ambassador Tonie Jacquez, Coordinator for Disarmament and Nonproliferation at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Mexico. She will be joined by Molly McGinity from IPPNW, Ksenia Pirnavskaia from ISYP, and Nivedita S from the EVN and the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore. The event will be followed by a Q&A.
See the event post on BASIC’s website here.
